Scything a path...

The last working group were kept busy building compost bins and filling them with freshly scythed grass.

The bee group keep an eye on our three hives every week. Two are doing well, one less so. But it's our first year...

Finally, a cautionary tale. The result of narrow tree guards, when buried too deeply in the soil, and/or when mulch is around the trunk, is roots growing through the guard. Three were discovered like this, up to 10cm in the ground, and the guards were dug out and cut away, and some of these roots were damaged in the process. Well, at least we caught them before they got any bigger.
