Update on the trial pits

We will be keeping an eye on three of the trial pits over winter. One, close to the edge of the brook, has remained dry so far but the other two have filled with water almost to the very top. The whole area is very wet with water standing on the surface. The photo shows a general view across the site. The pit in the foreground is full of water, as is the one visible just to the left on the picture.
