The Orchard Group's two keen scythers met up at the end of
August to cut the sloping ground. It's important to give this area a late summer
cut as it is our most promising place for wildflowers. We took home an apple
each (the photo shows some our Beauty of Bath apples). We found quite a few toads hiding in small depressions in the soil, under
the long grass, and thankfully didn't injure them at all.
We also spotted this well-camouflaged Field Grasshopper.
