December in the orchard

Rather to our surprise - given the weather this week - we were able to get into the orchard and plant some more shelter belt trees. We have another 40 trees to plant. Some are to replace saplings that didn't survive, and others are to add a few more varieties to the hedge. These trees are rather larger than the plugs we had last time, so hopefully they'll take and give us some shelter soon!

We also managed to put up a bird feeder to encourage our feathered friends into the orchard.
