The merry month of May

The work party in May saw us looking after our trees. We knocked back the weeds that were growing around the hedge-plants, and removed the few weeds that had grown through the mulch.

Although the beasties that were again eating the leaves of the fruit trees (Tortrix moth caterpillars?) have been controlled with organic techniques, i.e. removed by hand, we are interested in identifying and recording any other wildlife found in the orchard. This month we added Hawthorn shieldbug and Crosswort to our list of species.
