Walling work begins

On Saturday 25 September, the Peak Park Conservation Volunteers arrived to help rebuild the western boundary of the orchard site. We are very grateful to them, for both their help and expert advice. A large group of PPCV and BCOG volunteers soon set to, clearing away a section of the existing wall which was in poor condition.

Once the wall was down, the next job was to set out the line for rebuilding the wall.

The largest stones form the base, with harting infill.

Many hands made light work, and by the end of the afternoon the wall was clearly re-emerging.

We have a few more days work to finish this section - and then we'll need to do it all again on the top section of the wall. If you'd like to join us and help, please drop us an e-mail (see address in the side panel).
