On Monday 27th June, almost 50 people enjoyed a walk on a warm summer's evening to see Michlow Orchard, South Lea meadows and Hope ponds. Ellie gave a short introduction to the orchard. Rebekah Newman, an ecologist from the Peak Park showed us flood meadows at South Lea, soon to be designated SSSI. John McGough, former Quarry Manager, took us along a new concession path past the Lafarge ponds and talked about the restoration work the company undertakes.
